The Role

EIC provides assistance to an extensive range of clients to manage their carbon reporting and management obligations. The appointed Carbon Analyst will be responsible for assisting the consultants in the delivery of carbon compliance schemes, through the validation, quality assessment and analysis of data. The Carbon Analyst will also be required to request and collate data information directly from suppliers and clients for all energy and fuel types. They will assist in the completion of carbon compliance reports to be checked and approved by the responsible Consultant. As part of this role, the Carbon Analyst will maintain a sound understanding of carbon compliance schemes and advisory services. They will also be required to build and maintain good client and college relationships, acting as a point of contact for carbon solution customers.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Achievement of objectives and KPIs as agreed with line management
  •  Have a good working knowledge of carbon compliance schemes
  •  Keep up to date with general changes within the energy and carbon industry
  •  Query management and resolution, from clients, suppliers and Data Analysts
  •  Attend client meetings (site visit/remote) with Consultants when required
  •  Assist in the delivery of energy and carbon emissions monitoring reports and associated project work
  •  Working on Clients’ energy reduction projects to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and corporate objectives
  • Support with ad-hoc on the job training for more junior team members
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of carbon management projects
  • QA checking data spreadsheets, including data validation and emissions calculations
  • Establish, maintain and develop strong working relationships with clients through regular correspondence
  • Supporting senior team members in delivering project work
  • Proactively develop your own career; seeking guidance when and where appropriate
  • Support proposal drafting and job pricing, through providing data/information and client specific queries
  • Provide support and guidance to other team members
  •  Assist in the development of tools and processes used for compliance reporting
  • Begin to develop advanced specialist knowledge of specific carbon compliance schemes
  • Retrieval and collation of data from multiple sources – including suppliers and clients
  • Analysis of energy data and application of carbon factors to convert to emissions
  • Interpreting, under guidance, compliance regulations
  • Contribute to team discussions and strategic decisions
  • Communicate relevant information to all team members
  • Be well organised and help maintain project delivery schedules, internal and external deadlines

A confident Excel user is essential, not just data entry, but also some development of spreadsheets, using more than basic arithmetic. Knowledge of at least one carbon compliance scheme is essential, more than one is desirable, these schemes could include CCA, ESOS, EU ETS, Carbon Reporting, ISO 50001
