EIC was delighted to support two leading charities at the Energy Event held on Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 September at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham. As an Energy Event Partner and one of the main exhibitors, EIC vowed to donate 1 pound to charity for every business card collected in their two 'charity pods' on the EIC stand.
The EIC team voted to support the NSPCC and The Prostate Cancer Charity for this year's Energy Event. Collecting 246 business cards, EIC subsequently pledged to double the initial amount so each charity benefitted from a 250 pound donation.
Jenny Sedgwick, NSPCC corporate fundraising executive, said: "It is fantastic that EIC has selected the NSPCC as one of the charities to benefit from their fundraising efforts. The NSPCC relies on donations and fundraising for 82 percent of its income so the support of companies and individuals is vital in allowing us to provide services that work to end child abuse."
Alison Walker, Corporate Partnerships Manager for The Prostate Cancer Charity said: "We're thrilled that EIC have supported our work. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, with 250,000 men and their families affected by the disease in the UK, it is vital that we can count on the support of organisations like EIC. The money raised will help us provide dedicated support and information to men and their families affected by prostate cancer and will help us maintain investment in research to fight this disease."
Simon Butterfield, EIC Managing Director, commented "This year's Energy Event was another great success for EIC. Over the two day event we met and further strengthened relationships with a number of clients, prospects and suppliers. Our decision to support two charities was a new initiative for 2011 and we were delighted to have the opportunity to raise funds for organisations doing such important work. We'd like to thank everyone who visited the EIC stand at the event. The business cards we collected have resulted in a 500 pound donation to two very worthy causes."
